For my final FMP project, I designed and made a table tailored exclusively for solo diners in a restaurant setting. Drawing from my own phobias of social anxiety and food textures, I aimed to challenge the societal taboo surrounding solo dining. My design aims to confront this stigma by providing a comfortable yet empowering space for individuals to dine alone, embracing their fears. Featuring a single-seat structure with cutouts showcasing a complete dining setup, the table encourages the user to enjoy being alone and to in pair face their fears. Additionally, two flip-over discs facilitate seamless communication with the waiter for ordering or requesting the bill.It provides a setting where individuals can embrace being alone without facing judgment, fostering a liberating dining atmosphere.
