Small moments is a project aimed at portraying ordinary experiences. An introductory concept to an ongoing pictorial collection, gathered on the excursion through the lenses of contributors around London & Brighton accidentally telling imaginative stories of the people, places & things while creating a visual literacy of what our senses can build based on the bricks of frugal observations and mere conversations. Though slightly exaggerated & lightly developed, this series aims to tell stories as a reflection of our imagination & creativity. Designed to remind us to express our emotions through creative endeavours, a way to stay connected with the world around us and to explore our curiosity.
The core of this project revolves around the concept of capturing moments in everyday life. The process began when I became keenly aware of how much meaning could be derived from everyday activities and conversations. In order to develop my observations further, I wanted to create an ongoing series, collecting stories and insights as I moved from city to city. This was starting in Mumbai, continuing in London, and finally in Brighton. This book reflects these experiences, featuring content inspired by these cities and the unique moments I encountered.
In order to capture the simple, fleeting moments that often go unnoticed in our busy lives, the project focuses on preserving them as memories. It doesn’t always have to be family or close friends; it can be a brief exchange with a stranger or a small interaction that changes how we look at the world. Each person sees the world in a unique way, and the book offers a collective space where people can reflect on their own experiences, share their own work, and appreciate different perspectives. With the use of the cyanotype print method I have brought this project to life, an ongoing series to give it the haptic blues.
