There is an idea that trees and plants are connected through the ‘Wood Wide Web’, a complex network of fungi that allows plants to share nutrients and even allows for communication between flora. Humans are connected in a similar way – we (ideally) support each other, form communities, and encourage each other to grow. For this animation, I allowed these ideas to permeate my mind as I animated, and I thought about the intricacies of our connections, with other people and with ourselves.
My work deals primarily with the natural world and our place in it. I like to use a lot of colour and experimental techniques in my films, and approach each new work with a playful attitude.
