The project was about teenage bands active in the London area and the final product was in two parts, a notebook and three mini zines.
The book is a collaborative book by me and The Basement Door, a London-based charity that specializes in giving young people the opportunity to perform to realize their musical dreams. The notebook chronicles five months of gigs and stories, from the Battle of the Bands in January 2023 to the High Tide Festival at the end of July.
The 3 zines focus on more specific band stories, and they each tell the unique stories of the three bands I’ve befriended over the course of my five months with The Basement Door.
Here you can meet a group of energetic and talented teenagers and see how band culture is catching on amongst young people.
