My collection “Workhorse” is compromised of four looks which have been bought to life through my own experiences of growing up in rural Sussex. Borrowing from the silhouettes of men and women who laboured in the fields alongside their working horses during the Golden Age of Agriculture, my project draws inspiration from both the simplicity and mundanity of such a life.

Through the use of natural fibres, up-cycling of worn fabrics and repurposing of horse-tack to garment fastenings I wanted to embody the countryside mentality of toiling, sharing and making-do.
