We are surrounded by materials and inspiration given to us by the earth and my project is about utilising and celebrating these elements by brining community and sustainability together. Nurture The Nature is a Hub for creativity and growth as human beings and artists, creating a place where humanity and nature become one. Clay is excavated from the river bed located on site where it is dug to create a sculptural pathway into the building where vase like forms are located to be inhabited. A ceramic climbing sculpture is formed for children, connecting to the outside landscape acting as a growth from the river bed. In a second Clay structure a Gallery is brought to life by an open residency for the community to exhibit their work and on the fourth floor there is accommodation for the open residency. On the rear side of the building a glass workshop is three floors high, each floor representing the different stages of ceramic work where a steel shelving system reaching from ground to third floor carries you through the process creating a relationship between private and public. All elements intertwine between creators and visitors to create harmony within whilst bringing the outside in to flourish within the space.
