The installation ‘中間人，你家在哪？/ Inbetweener, Where is Your Home?’ is made up of the projection of a video work onto two nylon carrier bags that are local to Hong Kong and have international connotations of migration and travel. Through a personal lens, the work explores the concept of home being a transient space, especially for those with a transnational identity. The conversation between the permanence and impermanence of this space is also investigated in the installation, mainly through the juxtaposition of the flimsy bags and the imitation of a Chinese seal on the luggage tags. The video work uses footage shot in Hong Kong and London to create a ‘third space’/ an ‘inbetweeness’ mostly experienced by those with cross-cultural living experiences.
