We all know  water scarcity is one of the largest threats facing humanity today due to constant water shortages being experienced all over the world. Only a small percentage of the world’s water (about 3%) is fit for human consumption with two percentage of this amount present in glaciers and ice caps. The United Nations has given water due prominence by making it one of it’s millennium development goal. Several Innovations are available to carryout effective water purification, but many aren’t sustainable or Eco-friendly. Many water treatment methods waste water, use chemicals to purify water, and consume high amount of energy. Because our climate is changing rapidly, these non-sustainable purification methods are no longer sufficient, and it’s time to look into sustainable options. Here at Eco-Gin House we have introduced a natural solution to a man-made problem: unique Eco-friendly Algae based water purification technique.

Here At Eco-Gin House we are going to produce gin by using water flowing in the river below the building, and having abundance of Algae in the river itself makes it easily resource-able. Algae will benefit waste water treatment by producing oxygen allows aerobic bacteria to breakdown organic contaminates in the water and taking up excess nitrogen and phosphorus in the process. This is a affordable and sustainable alternative to the waste water system.
