Hi, my name is Jagjot, I have a keen interest in typography and publications as well as book binding and printing. I would like to develop and improve my knowledge in these areas. I also have a passion for nature and animals, and I would love to incorporate this within my work too.

This project, ‘281’ I decided to document my bus journey to university, which takes 1 hour and covers 42 stops. I thought it would be nice to create a record of my journey as my time at university comes to an end.

Photo mapping is a collage of images joined together to create one image of a scene from various angles. Utilising google maps, I wanted to explore a journey using their images. Interestingly, google maps allows you to change the date for images, therefore I decided to only source images from my years at university.

I used the same San serif typeface as Transport for London, called Johnson. Presented in a concertina book, to represent my long journey, I reduced the images from 42 stops to 16 of the most engaging images within a simple and clean layout.

Although I began working on this piece as a personal publication to document my journey. I now feel this concept has real merit and could be used by TfL to promote their bus route or be part of an exhibition piece at the TfL Museum. I was really pleased of the outcome of this project.
