Display is a proposal visual identity for the BA Graphic Design Degree Show. It celebrates the progression of people, places and things over time through a display type that when in contact with a graphic element begins to evolve. Signifying how as students we entered the course as rigid learners and through time we have evolved into creative beings. The identity is celebratory and playful, representative of the course as well as us as designers with diverse practices and interests. Inspired by morphing, glitches and the digital the identity celebrates how a mistake, like a glitch, can be used as a visual tool to construct a unique way of thinking.
The visual identity is fun and energetic but maintains a level of sophistication as it has a very particular role to play. Display is modular with a notion of “this is what I can be” as it adapts and transforms in different spaces rather than “this is what I am”.
