Social, Political, Joyful, Critical: my work is driven by a desire to challenge our understanding of the role of design in society. I am interested in design’s potential as a tool for change, looking to open conversations about the intersections between design, people and the planet.

My two graduate projects tackle issues of waste and over-consumption from different angles:

Cut From One is a set of sculptural nesting side tables that produce no offcuts. The project aims to minimise a product’s environmental footprint by eliminating waste from its production. Three sets of two tables are cut from one standard sheet of aluminium. 99.99% of the material is used.

‘Til Death Do Us Part is a proposal for an exhibition that celebrates second-hand objects for the stories they embody. It is part of an ongoing research project that explores object durability and questions how we can encourage respect, repair and reuse rather than replacement.
