I have chosen to present two projects I have completed this year as part of my BA Illustration Animation at Kingston University.

First is my Re-Present project, which we completed alongside and dedicated to our dissertation. For this project I chose to unpick and visually represent concepts from the book ‘A Thousand Plateaus’ by philosophers Felix Guattari and Gilles Deleuze. I used Collage, AI, Blender and Photoshop to create these images. I focused on the chapters ‘Of the Refrain’, ‘Faciality’, and ‘How do you make yourself a body without organs’. I chose this text because it aligned with the topic of my dissertation broadly as how to protest or create change politically in contemporary society.

The second project I have presented is my Extended Practice Proposal called ‘Artefacts from another world’. This project involved feeding natural forms and museum artefacts into Midjourney AI to create new artefacts to occupy a fictional museum exhibit representing another fictional world . I used the Midjourney results as the basis for objects I made in Blender adding wear and tear and other signs that the object is an artefact with history. I have represented 2 of my artefacts with more even lighting and dynamic angles for this exhibition to show them more clearly. Accompanying these objects I have added some of the fossils that inspired the individual objects to give context. Lastly I have included the two landscape designs I created as part of this project to show how this fictional world would appear. The shapes and formation of these landscapes is meant to similarly follow the shapes of the fossils and other natural forms I researched.
