My work considers girls’ and women’s bedrooms as kinds of feminist utopias in which we oversee and control how and why we collect objects and images. Centred mostly around pin-ups and the images we stick to our walls and how they can be seen as fragments of our ambition, hints and reminders to ourselves about who we want to be or be with. I used wall collage and film, with reference to artists and film makers including Carmen Winant, Bieke Depoorta, Mike Mills, John Smith and a huge number of 90s and 2000s romcoms.
