I have designed a manifestation of fashion clichés and stereotypes inspired by a London ‘it girl’. My work represents the volatile trend cycle and peoples debilitating obsession with frivolous things. I have explored how becoming concerned with material things can be all-consuming and interfere with your state of consciousness. My ‘it girl’ gets hit by a car (a freak accident) to express how life and materialism is temporary, as such physical possessions are ultimately worthless. My designs are a symbolic version of my protagonist’s decayed former-self and possessions.

Decayed version of her former self.
