The project responds to the prediction that bananas could disappear in the future. The Cavendish banana that we currently eat is in danger of disappearing due to the TR4 fungus.
The ‘Banana Council’ joins forces with other organisations and retailers to support a sustainable future for the banana. It encourages banana farmers in Africa to grow different types of bananas through a mobile application, helps them solve problems in the banana value chain and cope with political, economic, and market issues.
‘The Banana Workshop’ created by the Banana Council, aims to create broader societal awareness.
