Dignity in Folkestone

The AI wave creates abstract refugees, while issues like war, food scarcity, and policies result in tangible refugees. Government’s disregard for dignity exacerbates the competition for living space between residents and refugees, leading to a mutual loss of value, specifically, the erosion of dignity.

The project “Dignity” employs Folkestone as its backdrop, utilizes a cube as its stage, and leverages Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as a tool. Through it, I delve into the visualization of human dignity.

By building AI-first corporate models and through the development, exploration, and experimentation of DE7302, I use Folkestone as a stage to explore the visualization of human dignity. The primary focus is on the dignity of refugees, delving into the narratives of individuals who are easily marginalized and squeezed into collective descriptions during significant social changes. Folkestone audience members are encouraged to explore the experiences of both losing and gaining dignity and to place greater emphasis on individual survival.

In the kingdom of ends everything has either a price or a dignity. What has a price can be replaced by something else as its equivalent; what on the other hand is raised above all price and therefore admits of no equivalent has a dignity.
