Yutong Liu is an illustrator from China. She is attracted by illustration and animation. She has always been interested in music, so she has been experimenting with combining illustration and music, trying to find a new way of combining the two in a better way and a new way of visualising music with illustration. At the same time, she wants to bring more works to the world that touch the heart and are warmer.

In the final project Hear Yourself, she explores self-love. As the project progressed, she interviewed friends around her to explore how they loved themselves. She then produced the book Hear Yourself, based on the interviews, from not knowing what self-love is to gradually knowing what it is.  Through this book she tries to encourage her audiences to learn to love themselves and to put themselves first in their lives. As the saying goes, if you’re only earning someone’s love by being less yourself you’ve lost more than you’ve gain. Throughout this process, she saw herself grow and also learn to love herself more and to love those around her equally.

The four projects above are four of Yutong Liu’s works from the GDCP period, ranging from 2D to 3D and from traditional media to digital media. Each project is a different take on her illustration. Feel free to click on the link to view the related videos.
