Afternoon Tea has unified British society over the years, until today where its power of unification is challenged by my generation’s lack of interest for the continuation of English tradition. This project invites the wearer to take part in an afternoon tea with their Granny as they are forced to endure the traditional comfort of tea in the displeasingly familiar setting of their Grandparent’s home. My garment juxtaposes hand knitted Arran jumpers with silhouettes familiar to Gen Z alongside improper use of red bra straps to bring elements of mine and my Granny’s comforts in clothing together.

The photos above document an afternoon tea hosted by my Granny, attended by my Mum, younger Brother, and me.
