Welcome to project called “The Green Kitchen: A Sustainable Food Market and Cookery School Transforming Culinary Experience”, where an old mill is transformed into a modern, industrial, and sustainable food market and a vibrant cookery school. Our vision is to repurpose this historic building that will invite people in and foster a sense of community, celebrating diverse cultural backgrounds in one space that everyone loves the most- the food market!

The idea behind this proposal lies in the desire to connect with the local community and provide a platform and space for local producers to introduce and sell their products. The new food market will be a haven for environmentally conscious customers, who seek ethically sourced, sustainable, and organic options. We hope to provide an experience that stimulates the senses and enriches the gastronomic landscape of the area by bringing together a variety of businesses.

The cookery school will play a huge role in this project, offering educational cooking lessons, particularly targeting local school children. The mission is to introduce kids to sustainability at a very young age, mindful cooking practices, and the joy of culinary creation. By engaging the younger generation, we believe that it will help them create a  sustainable mindset and empower them to make better choices that positively impact their lives and the environment.

One of the key points of this project is sustainability. We are committed to reducing food waste to a minimum and implementing innovative methods to repurpose and transform it. Emphasising the circular economy will educate visitors on how to transform produced food waste into valuable resources like compost or fertiliser for plants. It will show the potential for how to be more sustainable within everyday actions.
